The opportunity to modernise rural homes is available again! The grant covers 50% of renovation costs supported by invoices, up to a maximum of HUF 3 million.

Who Can Apply for the Grant?

Married couples, partners, or single parents who are raising or expecting at least one child may apply, provided they meet the following requirements:

  • They are expecting or raising at least one biological, adopted, or dependent child. Pregnancy is taken into account from the 12th week. The child must be under 25 years of age or have reduced working capacity.
  • The property is located in a settlement with fewer than 5,000 inhabitants.
  • The applicant(s), their parents, and the applicant’s children must jointly hold at least a 50% ownership share in the property, and their permanent address must be registered at the property being renovated.
  • The grant may also be applied for newly purchased properties.
  • At least one applicant must have had continuous social security coverage for a minimum of one year, with an interruption of no more than 30 days.
  • Neither applicant may have outstanding tax or public debts.
  • Pensioners may also use this opportunity to renovate and modernise their homes.

Type and Amount of Funding

  • Grant amount: 50% of the renovation costs, up to a maximum of HUF 3,000,000.
  • Pre-financing: Before the renovation work begins, applicants may take out an interest-subsidised loan of up to HUF 6 million to finance the investment.
  • Either the material costs or the labour costs must account for at least 25% of the total eligible expenditure.
  • Combination with other schemes: The grant may be combined with CSOK, Rural CSOK—although double funding is not permitted—as well as with an LTP savings scheme and a Babaváró loan.

Eligible Activities

A wide range of renovation works can be carried out under the grant scheme:

  • Installation of water, sewerage, electricity, and gas utilities, including the construction or replacement of internal and external networks
  • Installation or modernisation of heating systems and replacement of their components, including renewable energy solutions
  • Installation or replacement of external doors and windows, as well as the renovation of shutters, insect screens, security grilles, window sills, and thresholds
  • Installation or replacement of air-conditioning systems
  • Comprehensive interior renovation, including flooring, painting, wallpapering, construction of galleries or staircases, and replacement of sanitary fittings, switches, internal doors, and lighting fixtures
  • Construction of a bathroom or toilet in a property where none previously existed
  • Exterior painting, colouring, and comprehensive insulation of the building, including thermal, acoustic, waterproofing, and plinth insulation
  • Construction or modernisation of flue systems and chimneys
  • Construction or renovation of fences
  • Construction or renovation of an enclosed garage, or creation of an open carport
  • Construction or renovation of a terrace, loggia, balcony, or canopy
  • Construction of a conservatory
  • Reinforcement of the foundation structure
  • Installation or modernisation of a domestic hot water system, including renewable energy solutions
  • Installation or replacement of an individual wastewater treatment system or septic tank
  • Replacement, renovation, or insulation of the roof
  • Construction or replacement of paving and external stairs
  • Accessibility improvement works
  • Replacement or installation of built-in furniture or built-in kitchen appliances
  • Installation or modernisation of a controlled ventilation system
  • Renovation of non-residential premises located on the same plot, such as a summer kitchen, laundry room, or storage room
  • Installation or replacement of solar thermal collectors or a solar panel system (Condition: for solar panel systems, the combined cost of materials and labour may not exceed gross HUF 450,000 per kWp.)

Application deadline: Funding applications may be submitted between January 2025 and 30 June 2026.

Why Is It Worth Taking Advantage of This Opportunity?

  • Types of funding: A combination of an interest-free loan and non-repayable funding.
  • Total amount of funding: HUF 2,500,000–10,000,000.
  • Required own contribution: At least 5% of the total eligible project cost. For the maximum HUF 10 million funding amount, this means HUF 526,316.
Application information: Applications may be submitted in person at Residential MFB Point Plus branches until the available funds are exhausted, or until 30 March 2027.

Who Can Apply?

The programme is available to individuals who:

  • Are of legal age and have full legal capacity.
  • Have a Hungarian tax identification number.
  • Are Hungarian citizens, or citizens of another EEA Member State who have had a permanent residence or place of stay in Hungary for at least one year.
  • Hold an ownership share, right of usufruct, or widow’s right in the property to be modernised.

What Types of Property Are Eligible?

  • Only single-family or multi-unit residential houses that received an occupancy permit before 1 January 2007.
  • Detached houses, terraced houses, and semi-detached houses registered by the land registry as residential properties located either within or outside the boundaries of a settlement.
  • Important: The house must be a registered property used as the applicant’s habitual residence and may be located anywhere in Hungary.

What Activities Are Eligible?

Energy-efficiency renovation works are eligible provided that their unit costs do not exceed the limits specified in the Call for Applications:

  • Comprehensive thermal insulation of the building’s external envelope, including ceiling insulation and flat-roof insulation.
  • Replacement of doors and windows resulting in energy savings, including the installation of shading systems such as external blinds and roller shutters.
  • Modernisation of domestic hot water systems, including the installation of solar thermal collectors.
  • Heating system upgrades, including air-to-water heat pumps, secondary heating circuits, automatic central or local control units, and control systems.
  • Restoration and repair costs directly related to the activities listed above.

Eligible Costs

  • Material costs: Only new equipment, appliances, and materials purchased through commercial channels may be financed.
  • Preparation costs: Fees for expert services, such as energy performance certificates and calculations, design work, procedural costs—including notary fees, land registry documents, and structural assessments—and energy consultancy.
  • Labour costs
  • Other costs: Any additional work that is essential for completing the project.

Further Important Conditions and Information

  • Target to be achieved: The project must result in a minimum 30% reduction in primary energy consumption.
  • Repayment: The loan is interest-free and must be repaid in monthly instalments over a maximum period of 15 years. A spouse or partner will be included as a co-borrower. The non-repayable grant component does not have to be repaid.
  • Financing process: Both pre-financing and post-financing are available, including a supplier advance of up to 75%. The loan and grant components are disbursed separately, but on the same day. Payment may be made through post-financing or by direct transfer to the supplier.
  • Implementation period: The project must be completed within 24 months of signing the loan agreement. In justified cases, this period may be extended by a further 6 months.
  • Required collateral: 0%, meaning no collateral is required.
  • Key construction products: Construction products used in the project must have a simplified environmental certification issued by ÉMI Nonprofit Kft.
  • Obligation: An information sticker must be displayed on the property affected by the renovation.

A significant change has been made to the grant programme: the available funding has increased from HUF 30 billion to HUF 40 billion, giving even more businesses the opportunity to purchase environmentally friendly vehicles.

Application deadline: Applications may be submitted until YYYY.MM.DD. A signed purchase agreement for the vehicle must already be attached to the application.

Who Can Apply?

  • Businesses with a registered office in Hungary, or with a registered office within the EEA and a Hungarian branch office and Hungarian tax number.
  • Applicants must have at least one completed full financial year.
  • Special condition for taxi operators: Only sole traders or companies whose registered activities included NACE code 4932 – Taxi operation – before 1 December 2023 may apply.

Who Cannot Apply?

Funding is not available in the following cases:

    • Businesses engaged in vehicle rental and/or vehicle trading activities, where NACE code 771 or 451 was registered on or after 9 December 2023.
    • Applicants whose principal activity falls under one of the NACE Rev. 2 codes between 01.11 and 03.22, based on the exclusion criteria applicable to de minimis aid.
    • Businesses that do not comply with the requirements for orderly employment relations.
    • Organisations that are not considered transparent under the Hungarian Act on Public Finances.
    • Companies currently subject to exclusion from the funding system.
    • Applicants with obligations towards third parties that could jeopardise the project.
    • Applicants who provide false, inaccurate, or misleading information.
    • Organisations undergoing liquidation, bankruptcy, voluntary dissolution, or any other termination procedure.
    • Companies with negative equity, or whose equity has fallen below their registered capital based on their latest closed financial statements.
    • Applicants subject to enforcement proceedings initiated by the Hungarian National Tax and Customs Administration at the time of submission.
    • Applicants that do not meet the conditions applicable to de minimis aid, such as those engaged in fisheries, aquaculture, primary agricultural production, or export-related activities.

    How Many Vehicles Can Be Funded?

    The number of vehicles that may be purchased under the project depends on the applicant company’s average statistical headcount in its most recently completed full financial year:

    • Fewer than 10 employees – 1 vehicle
    • 10–49 employees – 5 vehicles
    • 50–249 employees – 10 vehicles
    • More than 250 employees – up to 16 vehicles

    Funding may only be requested by submitting a purchase agreement or leasing agreement concluded for the vehicle forming the basis of the application. The programme supports the purchase of new, fully electric passenger cars, light commercial vehicles, and minibuses that are registered for the first time upon purchase.

    Amount of Funding

    The amount of non-repayable funding will be determined based on the performance and purchase price of the electric vehicles.

    Summary by Category

    Passenger Cars:

    • For vehicles with a battery capacity below 41 kWh and a purchase price under HUF 11.5 million, the grant amount may be HUF 2.8 million.
    • For vehicles with a battery capacity between 41 and 59 kWh and a purchase price of up to HUF 14 million, the grant amount may be HUF 3.6 million.
    • For vehicles with a battery capacity above 59 kWh and a purchase price of up to HUF 20 million, the grant amount may be HUF 4 million.

    Commercial Vehicles (M2, N1 and N2):

    • For vehicles with a battery capacity below 50 kWh and a purchase price under HUF 17 million, the grant amount may be HUF 3.6 million.
    • For vehicles with a battery capacity between 51 and 74 kWh and a purchase price of up to HUF 22 million, the grant amount may be HUF 3.8 million.
    • For vehicles with a battery capacity above 74 kWh and a purchase price of up to HUF 25 million, the grant amount may be HUF 4 million.

    Implementation Period and Maintenance Obligation

    • Under this call, the project must be physically completed by YYYY.MM.DD. at the latest. By this date, the vehicle must have become the property of the applicant company, and the financial report must also be submitted.
    • The final beneficiary must retain the vehicle purchased under the grant for 3 years from the completion of the project, but no later than YYYY.MM.DD. During this period, the vehicle may not be sold, leased, or made available for use by a third party.
